Plano Eyelid Surgery
Individuals who have excess skin and fat in the upper and/or lower eyelids may benefit from eyelid surgery. Based in Plano, Ronald M. Friedman, M.D. of the West Plano Plastic Surgery Center may help patients achieve an improved and more youthful appearance with the help of this cosmetic facial procedure. Patients may be at ease knowing that their procedure is performed in a nationally-accredited surgery center on the campus of Presbyterian Hospital in Plano. Dr. Friedman and his staff are committed to each patient's safety throughout his/her surgical experience with eyelid surgery.
Eyelid Surgery
During an initial consultation, Frisco eyelid surgery patients can discuss their problem areas and learn about the options available with eyelid surgery ("blepharoplasty"). Depending on the patient's goal, and what he/she hopes to achieve, Dr. Friedman can perform surgery on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both.
The upper eyelid surgery procedure is performed by making incisions in the natural crease, followed by the removal of excess skin and fat; this surgery typically takes about one and a half hours to complete. This helps to improve "hooding," creating a more distinct upper eyelid crease. Oftentimes, Dr. Friedman combines brow lift surgery ("forehead lift") with eyelid surgery; this can help to target drooping in the brow area.
Those who would like to eliminate "bags" under their eyes may greatly benefit from lower eyelid surgery. Incisions are made near the lash line; the underlying muscle is then tightened and excess skin and fat is removed. This procedure is effective in diminishing the appearance of tired-looking eyes. Additionally, Botox ® injections can help patients alleviate wrinkles in the forehead, between the eyes, and in the "crow's feet," which may also provide a more rejuvenated look. Injectable fillers (Restylane ®, Perlane ®) may improve the hollow areas beneath the lower eyelids.
Many individuals who undergo eyelid surgery in Plano also choose to combine facelift surgery ("rhytidectomy") to achieve rejuvenation of cheeks, jawline, and neck. Further information can be attained during a visit at the West Plano Plastic Surgery Center, or in the Q&A section.
Prospective Plano, Frisco, and Irving eyelid surgery patients may look through before and after eyelid surgery photos to see examples of Dr. Friedman's patient results. Furthermore, educational videos are available to view, as are patient testimonials.
